The CHOTA 1 by TAMBU is a well-designed 1-person trekking tent for anyone who values low weight, reliable weather protection, and a pleasantly dark interior climate on their trips. Whether on foot, by bike, or on a motorcycle – its compact design makes the tent an ideal companion for minimalist adventures.
With external dimensions of approximately 260 × 140 × 95 cm (L × W × H) and a rear-sloping silhouette, the CHOTA 1 offers a streamlined shape that reduces wind resistance while saving weight. The inner tent measures approximately 230 × 80 × 90 cm, providing ample space for one person and their equipment without unnecessary bulk.
The external aluminum poles allow for quick pitching and ensure that the inner tent remains better protected from rain during setup. The side entrance facilitates entry and is complemented by an extended door section that further shelters the entrance area. An integrated mosquito net reliably keeps insects out and, together with fixed ventilation openings, supports pleasant air circulation inside the tent.
The flysheet, made from recycled rPET polyester with a black coating, significantly reduces light penetration, providing more darkness and a more balanced climate inside – ideal for longer sleep, even after the sun has risen. With a water column of approximately 3000 mm on the flysheet and approximately 5000 mm on the groundsheet, the CHOTA 1 offers reliable protection against rain and damp ground.
Weighing approximately 2.0 kg and with a pack size of about 45 × 14 × 14 cm, the tent remains pleasantly portable and fits easily into a backpack or bikepacking setup. Like all TAMBU tents, the CHOTA 1 is made from recycled polyester (rPET) and has a PFC-free coating.
